Priya has 20 years of interdisciplinary experience in the energy sector with a focus on engineering, operations, and program management to advance decarbonization missions within the government and private sector. During her tenure at the U.S. Department of Energy, Priya managed advanced energy projects in several technology offices across DOE’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy and the Loan Programs Office. Prior to her federal career, Priya supported international wind energy companies, Iberdrola Renewables and E.ON Climate & Renewables, as well as Berkshire Hathaway Energy (formerly Dominion Transmission). Priya holds a B.A. in Economics from Bryn Mawr College, a MS in Systems Engineering, (with a focus on Energy and Environment) from George Washington University’s School of Engineering and Applied Science, and certificates in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Equitable Community Change from Cornell University. Priya has previously served as a member of both the Arlington and DC branches of NAACP, contributing to their environmental justice groups. Priya is based in Fairfax, where she spends her free time enjoying the simple pleasures of life with her children. You can find them in the garden, playing outside and creating lasting memories amidst the beauty of nature. As a Unitarian Universalist, Priya deeply identifies with the 7th principle, Respect for the Interdependent Web of All Existence of Which We Are a Part, guiding her commitment to fostering harmony and sustainability within our interconnected world.
