Faith Community Network
FACS works with over 70 places of worship in the Northern Virginia area. Our network includes members from Protestant, Muslim, Jewish, Catholic, Unitarian Universalist, Hindu, and Peace Traditions.
The Tree of Life support program provides scaffolded resources and recognition to help your community achieve its goals. Tree of Life is designed for communities of all faiths existing at all levels of exploration and action in addressing the climate crisis.

How Faith Alliance for Climate Solutions Works:
Programs: The Tree of Life Program is our signature program for faith communities. This guides and supports individual places of worship in their sustainability and green programming.
Community Council: We ask that each place of worship have 1-3 appointed people who are part of our community council. These are liaisons between FACS and the place of worship.
Green Teams: FACS works with faith communities to organize internal Green Teams (or equivalent). We provide resources to help build internal support and implement sustainability initiatives, programs, and education into their congregation.
Events: FACS holds four events each year for members to meet and discuss what they’ve done. Additionally, FACS hosts and co-sponsors many events across Northern Virginia.
Advocacy: FACS advocates to different NOVA entities by conducting county-wide Advocacy Campaigns and organizing community-level Advocacy Teams for grassroots lobbying. Becoming part of our network means that we provide you with resources to support specific causes important to your community.
Youth: Faith Alliance for Climate Solutions is an organization for youth and adults. We provide resources and events that are accessible to youth. Additionally, we can work with your place of worship to develop youth-specific programs.
