Faith in Action

By: Kristin Rosenthal

Spring is the time of emergence and restoration, of life flourishing and flowering, a time of celebration and gathering. I’ve had the great privilege of attending a Ramadan service and feast, Iftar, with the McLean Islamic Center, and a Shabbat Service at Temple Rodef Shalom in the past few weeks. Interfaith connections are emerging and growing, to invent our new ways of living. There’s a saying, “we need not think alike to love alike”. I felt the “loving alike” and the holiness present in both services. We are all dedicated to the healing of this planet, the health and well-being of all beings, and the creation of environmental justice.

Earth Day will have been celebrated by the time you read this: the motto for my Earth Day was: honor what’s emerging! Honor it with hope, and rolling up your sleeves to do the work that’s needed.

How did you celebrate the magnificent gift of life on Earth this month?
