FACS Power of Faith: Technical Guidance Document

The Faith Alliance for Climate Solutions (FACS) Power of Faith program is designed to assist congregations that want to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, minimize wasted energy, and conserve resources for their missions. Our program connects houses of worship with energy experts, installers, financers, and provides peer support as they make energy efficiency upgrades to their buildings. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that congregations can save 30% on their utility bills by improving energy efficiency. That’s money that can be redirected towards children’s programs, food pantries, and other vital projects. FACS supports congregations through a learning community of faith leaders who collaborate on energy efficiency initiatives. The program offers personalized coaching, monthly webinars with experts, and practical resources. Additionally, it provides connections to installers and financiers that other congregations have worked with previously.
