FACS’ Board of Directors is happy to announce that Andrea McGimsey has accepted our offer to become Executive Director beginning August 8, 2021.
“I am excited to join Faith Alliance for Climate Solutions in solving the climate crisis together, through prayer, action, and caring for each other,” Andrea said.
A committed environmental activist, advocate, and leader, Andrea most recently was Senior Director for Global Warming Solutions of Environment America, where she led campaigns to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Previously, at Campaign for Loudoun’s Future, Andrea mobilized citizens to protect the county’s environment. Upon being elected to the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors, she led the successful effort to pass the county’s first energy and climate plan. She also served as executive director of several non-profit organizations, including Oatlands in Loudoun, and is an active member of a faith community in Loudoun.
“Thanks to the fine work of Board search committee members David Kepley and Ani Fete Crews, we’re proud to welcome Andrea as our new Executive Director,” noted FACS Board Chair, Eric Goplerud.
