Faith Alliance for Climate Solutions

Advocacy Day Book Discussion

Join us online on January 13th, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. for FACS’ first interactive book discussion. We will be discussing Bill McKibben’s 2019 book Falter: Has the Human Game Begun to Play Itself Out?

Come discuss how we as people of faith continue to find hope and care for each other — especially when it feels like the world is faltering. Familiarize yourself or dive deeper into the work of acclaimed activist, author, and environmentalist Bill McKibben. McKibben is delivering the opening remarks for FACS’ Advocacy Day Workshop in the evening.

The book discussion is open to all. Whether you read the book in its entirety, some of it, or none, we welcome you to the lively discussion and look forward to seeing you there!

About the Book:

Falter tells the story of these converging trends and of the ideological fervor that keeps us from bringing them under control. And then, drawing on McKibben’s experience in building, the first truly global citizens movement to combat climate change, it offers some possible ways out of the trap. We’re at a bleak moment in human history — and we’ll either confront that bleakness or watch the civilization our forebears built slip away.

Falter is a powerful and sobering call to arms, to save not only our planet but also our humanity itself.

“A love letter, a plea, a eulogy, and a prayer. This is Bill McKibben at his glorious best. Wise and warning, with everything on the line. Do not miss it.”  —Naomi Klein, author of This Changes Everything and The Shock Doctrine
